Believe is the twenty-second studio album by American singer and actress Cher, released on 22nd October 1998 by WEA and Warner Bros. Records.
Following the commercial disappointment of her previous studio album "It's a Man's World", her record company encouraged her to record a dance-oriented album, in order to move into a more mainstream sound
Four singles were released from the album including "Believe" which became one of the biggest-selling singles ever by topping the charts in a total of 23 countries and has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
Hit tracks include Believe and Strong Enough.
The album spawned Cher’s first Grammy of her career At the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, Believe was nominated for Best Pop Album, while the title track won Best Dance Recording and was nominated for Record of the Year.
