The villagers of Animal Crossing: New Horizons are preparing for a number of significant events at the end of the year. Isabelle appears to be more excited about what the new year will bring to the getaway island than the game's annual Toy Day, which is just a few days away. In fact, players can now use New Year's Eve items to decorate their islands, which are now available in the game for purchase.
All of Animal Crossing's favorite assistant took to the Animal Crossing Twitter account to express her feelings about the New Year and to inform players about the New Year's Eve merchandise available in the Nook Shop. While no detailed list of what is available was provided, an accompanying image showcases some of the items that players can purchase to help them prepare for the year 2022 in their homes. In addition, Isabelle revealed that the New Year's Eve items will only be available until the end of the year, whereas the New Year's items will be available until January 5, 2018.
As for the ACNH items cheap that players can currently obtain, Isabelle's tweet provides a hint as to what is currently available to them. Probably the most noticeable is a large celebratory arch of balloons with the word "2022" emblazoned on the front. In the doorway of your home as you welcome guests to a New Year's Eve feast, these will make the perfect decoration. With regard to cuisine, there appear to be an abundance of new dishes available to grace your table as you count down the hours until the new year begins to dawn.
All of these holiday decorations will come in handy if New Horizons decides to continue its New Year's Eve countdown event. During the holiday season last year, while everyone was still quarantined at home, New Horizons hosted a fun countdown party where players could earn exclusive rewards and participate in limited-time activities. Of course, first and foremost, everyone will have to endure the annual Toy Day celebrations in the game. During Toy Day, which takes place every Christmas in Animal Crossing, players can collect items for themed furniture and décor, which they can use to decorate their homes. There will also be an opportunity to meet Jingle, who will be a big visitor on Toy Day.
